The July Lectures in Physics
A program of lectures aimed at providing insights into fundamental questions in Physics

By the standards of the solar system the Earth has an unusually gigantic natural satellite. The Moon raises tides on the Earth and the Earth continually modifies the Moon’s orbit.

This lecture looks at the many peculiarities of the Earth-Moon system and some of the half-century old technology that got us there in 1969 for a closer look.
